Why Road Work is Dangerous

August 16, 2009

A friend was in West Chicago and St. Charles today when I took this photo at an intersection. Incredibly dangerous, if you ask me. This intersection is known for it’s fatal crashes, and it’s a rainy day, no less. I really think those folks involved in road work should develop standard protection means for roadway workers, and then enforce it. Two families are destined for “we are sorry to inform you ….. ” phone calls just by looking at this photo. BTW traffic heading westbound crests a hill very shortly before this traffic light. I am pretty sure the speed limit east of the light is 55 mph, not to mention most folks are going much faster than the limit. That stretch of road is just conducive to speeding.
